Paris
Vivaldi's Olympics-themed opera, part of the Cultural Paris 2024 Olympiad

The plot turns on a cheating scandal at the Olympic Games and on a tangled love situation involving two young men Megacle and Licida and two girls Aristea and Argene, none of whom can marry the one he/she really loves. But several twist and turns later they are reunited, and the opera concludes in a happy end.
Vivaldi’s musically rich and charming opera is performed by a perfect cast including the prodigious countertenor, Jakub Jozef Orlinski - Licida - with his unusual scenic ease and his passion for breakdance, staged by the creative Emmanuel Daumas and conducted by Jean-Christophe Spinosi one of the best connoisseurs of baroque vitality.
