Nefés by Pina Bausch
Original title: Nefés de Pina Bausch
A Nefés, literally "breath" in Turkish, is originally a spiritual hymn sung with or without accompaniment. During her travels, Pina Bausch loved nothing so much as to immerse herself totally, sensorially, in the cities where she stayed. The play of light and shadow on the Bosporus, the colors and the smells of this flamboyant metropolis Istanbul, at the crossroads of so many beliefs, inspired this ballet at the beginning of the 2000's. Inspiration and expiration punctuate here with humor, sensitivity and poetry. This tale of a Thousand and One Nights was imagined by one of the greatest modern choreographers. A total show, shocking by its strength, its energy and its emotional message anchored in the deepest of both, dancer as spectator.
