This Damnation was conceived as a “dramatic legend,” a succession of evocative scenes—Hungarian March, Dance of the Sylphs, Ride to the Abyss—accompanying Faust’s wanderings, his biting exchanges with the Devil, and his fateful love for Marguerite. Benjamin Bernheim will embody a powerful Faust in this new production staged by the young and talented Silvia Costa.
