Robinson Crusoé de Jacques Offenbach - OPERA MIS EN SCENE
Following the success of their La Périchole, the duo Marc Minkowski and Laurent Pelly reunites for another Offenbach gem. Robinson Crusoe is one of the composer’s lesser-performed works and hasn’t been staged in France since 1986. Yet this opéra-comique—depicting the eventful round trip of the Crusoe family between Bristol and the Americas—masterfully blends catchy tunes, irresistible dances, and powerful emotions. Lawrence Brownlee and Julie Fuchs, both widely acclaimed in the opera world, will bring this rarely seen production to life.
